eBay’s new sports cards Authenticity Guarantee program will eventually include autograph, patch, and graded cards. It is run by a third-party authentication company, the Certified Collectibles Group, which also operates the Certified Sports Guaranty Company. The program, which launched on Jan. 25, is a win-win situation for both sellers and buyers. If you’re looking for an authentic sports card, you can rest assured that the process is secure and will be completed within two business days.

The Authenticity Guarantee is available to U.S. buyers, but only for cards sold in the U.S. and its territories. Items from Armed forces post offices are also excluded. Additionally, if the card you purchased is not authentic, eBay will reimburse you in full using the same payment method you used to purchase it.

The program covers trading cards of most sports, entertainment, and gaming categories. However, it does exclude autographs and memorabilia cards, which are considered rare and expensive. eBay is expanding its service to include other high-value items like autographs and patch cards. As long as the cards are priced above $250, the Authenticity Guarantee program is free for buyers. It’s a win-win situation for everyone in the card business.
